Assistive Technology Update Podcast

I was recently a guest on the Assistive Technology Update Podcast, hosted by Josh Anderson, where we had a fantastic conversation about disability advocacy and accessibility. As a disability advocate and accessibility consultant, it was a wonderful opportunity to share my insights and experiences with a wide audience of people interested in assistive technology, physical spaces and living with a disability.

During the podcast, we discussed a variety of topics, including the challenges and opportunities of working in the field of disability advocacy and accessibility, the importance of inclusive design in technology, and the need for greater awareness and education around disability issues.

One of the key points that I emphasized throughout our conversation was the importance of involving people with disabilities in the design and development of things like assistive technology. Too often, technology and physical architecture is created without considering the needs and perspectives of people with disabilities, which can lead to finished products that are difficult or even impossible to use.

By involving people with disabilities in the design process, we can create products that are more accessible and inclusive, and that truly meet the needs of those who rely on assistive technology to live full and independent lives.

Another important topic that we discussed was the need for greater awareness and education around disability issues. Many people are simply not aware of the challenges that people with disabilities face on a daily basis, or the ways in which technology can be used to overcome these challenges.

As an accessibility consultant, I work to raise awareness and provide education around disability issues, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to do so on the Assistive Technology Update Podcast. By sharing our experiences and insights with a wider audience, we can help to build a more inclusive and accessible world for everyone.

Overall, my appearance on the Assistive Technology Update Podcast was a fantastic experience, and I'm grateful to Josh Anderson and the INDATA Project at Easterseals Crossroads for the opportunity to share my perspective with their listeners. I look forward to continuing to work together to promote greater accessibility and inclusion for all.
